ABOUT US

At C.E.P.D we specialise in sport activities, sport courses. Continuous Professional Development (CPD) for teachers and extra-curricular activities for children of all ages. While taking part in our sessions we will ensure that the children will be able to experience many different sporting activities. The sessions will be taken by qualified and experienced coaches who will make sure that the activities are not only fun but also educational.

The coaches will report back to teachers and parents about their children’s effort and ability. The coaches will also be able to identify talented children and provide them with opportunities to continue their development at local and regional clubs. You will find all the information you need about our exciting and fun range of activities on this website, but if you would like to speak with us directly, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

As a new company we hope that we will be able to provide you and your children with a service that is over and above our competitors. The company is run by Judith Gilmour a primary school teacher with 22 years’ experience and a School Sports Coordinator for the past 5 years, in which time she has been responsible for the increased participation of key stage 1, 2, 3 and 4 children in new activities and competitive situations.

Claire Beresford an extremely well qualified coach of many sports is also involved in the planning and running of the Holiday Club Programme. Claire has many years’ experience working with both primary and secondary school children.

We believe in heavily investing in the education and development of our staff, and are able to deliver a far higher standard of coaching than any of our competitors. All of our coaches are fully qualified and registered with their sporting governing bodies to deliver sports coaching.

All staff, whether they are in our administrative assistants or a coach, MUST undertake a full enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check before commencing any work for the company.

SERVICES WE OFFER

After School Clubs

Sessions will run for one hour a week after school. In order to promote the sessions we will be available to come into school and talk to the children and demonstrate the activities that can/will be offered. We can then identify which activities would be most popular with the children.

All sessions are based around fun sport activities and will be adapted to ensure that the children will be prepared for all forth coming school competitions. All activities will be open for boys and girls from reception classes upwards. As part of our service it will be our responsibility to produce consent forms, signing children in and out, keeping registers and collecting all payments and taking care of all administration of the courses.

We will also provide the parents with a report which will inform them of their child’s effort and ability during the sessions.

Curriculum Time Coaching

We are able to offer top quality teachers and coaches to cover PPA in your school. We are able to deliver a variety of sports throughout the year. Sessions can be booked on any day, subject to availability.

We can provide a session which will conform to a National Curriculum P.E. session and fits in with the schools long, medium or short term plans. No teacher supervision is required as we will supervise a full children hand-over to and from the class teacher. We will also ensure that a full report would be provided to the class teacher so as to inform at parents evening or in report format with appropriate attainment levels and to help inform for further planning of sessions.

Holiday Clubs – Sport courses during the school holidays

If you want someone to look after the children over the school holidays and you don’t want them to be sat on the couch playing computer games all day then CEPD is here to help. We can help find a sporting activity they enjoy or have not tried before and make friends whilst doing it. CEPD deliver sports courses between 8.45am and 4pm during the school holidays.

Depending on the numbers the children are usually split in age groups and then provided with the opportunity to take part in an excellent quality coached session, which will concentrate on acquiring skills and tactics, while in a fun environment. The children will also be given the opportunity to play in small sided competitive games. All they’ll need to bring is suitable footwear and clothing, a towel and something to eat and drink during the breaks.
